Common Questions

Your plant will arrive potted in its plastic nursery pot, sitting inside the decorative pot if ordered together. We try to avoid plastic and unnecessary sticky-tape when packaging our orders, so your plant will come in a calico bag with coco-husks to keep all of its soil nice and snug!

We've tried to make it as easy as possible for you to own a plant! This means that once your plant arrives, you don't have to worry about re-potting it!

Simply cut the tape around the outside of the box (feel free to angle your box however you like while doing this, your plant is very secure inside!), pull and loosen the ribbon holding the plant in place, then remove the plant from the decorative pot or box insert. Once the plant and pot are out of the box, take the calico bag and coco-husks off the plant, give it some water and place it in the decorative pot!

It's that easy!

The short answer is, no. First, let your plant acclimate to its new environment. Place the plant in the spot you plan to keep it in and let it enjoy its new home.

We prefer to leave our plants in their nursery pots rather than repotting them directly into their decorative pots. Nursery pots have drainage holes so you don’t have to be as mindful when you water. They also give you the ability to use decorative planters that don’t have holes, move them around for easier watering and changing of decorative pots, and easy repotting when it comes time to give your plant some extra room to grow!

The decorative planter serves as a saucer, catching excess water that drains out (just make sure your plant doesn't sit in this water!).

To get the most out of your plant, we do recommend repotting it into a slightly larger nursery pot after around 6-12 months to encourage more lush growth.

We provide personalised notes with all of our orders! If you're sending a gift and would like to add a special note for your recipient, simply add a note on either the product page, cart drawer or email us after placing your order and we'll make sure they get your message!

We can also deliver your order on a specific date, such as birthdays or special occasions (this is a little harder with postal orders, so we can't promise delivery on the exact date - but we do our best!). The more notice we have, the better. Just let us know in the cart notes or by email and we'll do our best to get it to them around the selected date!

While there is some variation between every plant, we do everything we can to accurately display our current stock so that you get what you ordered!

We even take photos of every new batch of stock to ensure that there's as little variation from our photos as possible!

Please contact us at hello@leafandpot.com as soon as possible if you would like to change or cancel your order. We'll do our best to process your request. There's a human behind each response! Please allow up to 2 business days for us to get back to you.

Every plant is fragile and the shipping process is not always kind (or easy). Most of the time we get it right, but sometimes we don’t. When that happens, we fix it – be it a damaged plant or pot due to shipping carrier mishandling. Please inspect your package when you receive your delivery. Should your order arrive damaged, please take some photos and send an email to hello@leafandpot.com
